I know things aren't bright and cheering on the Theta Mutual front, but we did get good news from ESLR today. The company announced that they changed their corporate format this week and the new infrastructure makes fundraising much easier. This may eventually lead to other investors dropping coin on the company and more advanced research and development.
Since we've locked in to January 10, have we all began thinking about our January stock picks? Have we chosen a location for the powwow?

Rest In Peace
Some say that Theo Epstein's best deals are his non-deals. Letting Pedro and Johnny Damon walk and passing on Johan Santana were in fact statement moves. Theta Mutual made it's best non-deal to date in passing on the recent push to acquire ACUS.
The six month waiting period for the approval of Imagify ended in a buzzkill as the FDA panel voted down the once-potential wonder drug. Sadly, it looks like all good things come to an end...

Trim The Fatski
Looks like Bank Of America is handing out pinks for the holidays. Not good news for employees, but what do they expect absorbing Merrill Lynch and Countrywide this year. This should help stabilize our position for the first quarter of 2009.

Riders Of The Knights Of The Round Table
Gents it's that time of year again when we need to gather, pony up and reevaluate our portfolio. We last met in October at Patrick's new abode and January will be another three months of investment bliss gone by. Michael, perhaps Billerica's finest may host the event? Do you see a ThetaMutual billiard tournament in our future?
I think Patrick's reverse immigration takes place in late January, so how does Saturday, January 10th look? If Sutton Street doesn't make sense, we can secure an alternative venue but I'd rather make the drive up there than have all you guys journey southward.
Should we pencil in the day?

ACUStomed To Change
ACUS has taken a gut shot with reports that Imagify "showed evidence of hypertension, decreased blood pressure and abnormal behavior" in its animal testing. Down over 50% in a single day, it sounds like investors are running scared as well.
We were banking on the successful trial of Imagify to catapult the company into the $1+/s range. However, it appears to have hit a snag and needs to prove it can overcome said side effects and limit the risk it poses to users.
We know ACUS has been contacted by the Exchange for consistently trading under $1/s. If Imagify doesn't work out and ACUS can't bail themselves out of existing debt issues, the results could spell doom for the company. The ongoing trials are clearly uncertain. I motion to hold our position and keep ACUS on our watch list. If we jump the gun and buy even 100 shares at $.35/s, we may end up holding pink slips in a few months and we can't afford to take another bath on a poor investment.

our good old friend ACUS
whats up fellas. I wrote an email yesterday, but thought the blog might get a better response. ACUS is now at .74 a share. it hasnt been below .50 cents since howloween. right now we have a purchase price of .41 cents. Do we think its going to drop again to that. I know I dont. Rizzi seems to think that it is stuoid if we pick it up again at the price it is at, and i agree, but what if we miss the boat totally. Is it worth picking it up again or do we just say goodbye to it? thoughts?
